The primary tobacco-growing valley in the Dominican Republic. Sheltered between mountain ranges, the Cibao produces fine Dominican wrapper and long filler leaf. Home to Tabadom (Davidoff) and Tabacalera de García (My Father). Arturo Fuente's Château Fuente estate sits in this valley.

Founded by Zino Davidoff in Geneva. Premium Swiss luxury brand. Dominican Republic production since the 1990s after Cuba relationship ended. Nicaragua line added in 2012.

1990

Ends Cuba partnership, moves to Dominican Republic

After years of quality disputes with Habanos S.A., Davidoff terminates its Cuban partnership. Production moves to Tabadom in the Dominican Republic. Cuban Davidoffs are recalled and destroyed — making surviving specimens highly collectible.

1946

Zino Davidoff takes the helm

Zino Davidoff takes over the business and develops the iconic wine cellar–inspired cigar storage philosophy. He begins importing Cuban cigars and develops a partnership with Habanos S.A. that will define the brand's premium positioning.

1906

Henri Davidoff opens a tobacco shop in Geneva

Henri Davidoff, a Ukrainian emigrant, opens a small tobacco shop in Geneva, Switzerland. His son Zino will transform the shop into an international luxury brand.
